When we embrace masculine traits such as being formidable, fierce, relentless, and gritty, and we own them just as much as we own grace, we are able to live our authentic lives. When women embrace the fact that grit and grace complement each other and are not mutually exclusive, it enables us to lead our own lives. And guess what? When you live authentically, you find peace. And everyone who loves you notices, and it turns out peace is contagious.

Is Anybody There?

When I started working on myself, setting aside time for myself, and working on living as authentically as possible, something overwhelmed me. As I looked to my right and my left, I realized how alone I was.

Don’t get me wrong. This book is not long enough to list all the amazing ways my husband fills my cup. To say he is my best friend is a gross understatement. He is my cheerleader, my sage, my comic relief, my masseuse, and my coach all in one. But there is a void in all of us that can be filled only by God, and I was missing Him. I felt alone and far away from God because I had made choices that had isolated me from not only Him but from my friends, who are an extension of God’s love to us.
